An AI song generator turns lyrics or a short prompt into a finished song, with vocals and music together. It suits channel intros and jingles, personal songs for a birthday or a wedding, and songwriting demos you want to hear sung back. In wawie, songs are made in the music tool, next to instrumentals. This guide covers both routes: letting the lyrics be written for you, or having your own words sung.
Time needed: 15 min
What you need
- A wawie account (Start plan or above)
- Your lyrics, or a theme for the song
- A genre and mood in mind
- The rights to any lyrics you supply
How do you make a song with AI, step by step?
- Sign up and pick a plan with songs: Create a wawie account in your browser, with nothing to install. The free plan, with 5,000 credits and no card, lets you explore the tools, and song creation with vocals is included from Wawie Start at EUR 4.99 a month, together with commercial use of your songs.
- Open the music tool: From the side menu of the dashboard, open the music tool: songs and instrumentals are made in the same place. The simple mode works from a description, and the advanced mode adds a lyrics field plus options for style words, a song title and the singer's voice.
- Switch off the instrumental option: The instrumental option is on by default, which produces music without vocals. Switch it off in the settings so the track is sung. This one setting turns a backing track into a song, in both the simple and the advanced mode, so check it before every run.
- Describe the song or paste lyrics: In simple mode, describe the song, for example a country song about a friend who is always late, and the lyrics are written for you. In advanced mode, paste your own words, ideally split into verses and a chorus, and they are sung as written.
- Set the style, mood and singer: Pick a genre and a mood for the song. In advanced mode, add a few style words such as gospel, piano, uplifting, choose a male or female vocal or leave it on auto, and give the song a title. Styles to avoid help rule out sounds you do not want.
- Generate the song: Launch the generation. The cost appears before you start, and a full song takes from tens of seconds to a few minutes while progress is shown. Each run can return more than one take, which gives you different melodies and deliveries of the same words to compare.
- Compare the takes and refine: Listen to every take in the player. If the melody, the tempo or the delivery is not right, adjust the style words, the mood or a line of the lyrics and generate again. Small, specific changes usually bring the song closer faster than rewriting everything.
- Download it or put it under a video: Download your favourite take as an MP3, or drag it from your media library into a studio project to place it under a video. Add titles or captions there, then export the finished edit as an MP4 for YouTube, TikTok or Instagram.
How do you write lyrics that sing well?
- Keep lines short and rhythmic. Lines of similar length with a clear beat are easier to sing than long sentences, and they sit on a melody more naturally.
- Write a chorus that repeats. A short, memorable chorus between the verses gives the song a structure that listeners recognise and remember after one listen.
- Match the style to the words. A lullaby, a birthday song and a product jingle need different genres, tempos and moods, so set them rather than leaving them open.
- Only use lyrics you wrote or have the rights to. The song you generate is yours to use within the providers' terms, but supplied lyrics remain your responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI write the lyrics for me?
Yes. In the simple mode of wawie's music tool, describe the song you want, such as a pop song about chasing the sunset, and switch off the instrumental option. The lyrics are written for you and sung over music composed to match. If you want control over every word, use the advanced mode and paste your own lyrics instead.
Can I choose the singer's voice?
In the advanced mode, you can choose a male or female vocal, or leave it on auto. The genre, the mood and your style words also shape the delivery, from a soft ballad to an energetic pop vocal. The singing voice is generated with the song, so describe the kind of singer you want in your style words too.
Which genres and languages can a song be in?
The genre list includes pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, country, lo-fi, cinematic, jazz, afrobeat, K-pop, gospel and many more, and advanced mode accepts your own style words. Songs can be sung in several languages, including English and French: write the lyrics in the language you want, or ask for that language in your description.
Can I use an AI-generated song commercially?
Yes, on a paid plan. From Wawie Start, songs you generate are royalty-free and yours to use, including commercially, within the underlying model providers' terms, with no separate per-song license to buy. You remain responsible for the rights to any lyrics you supply, so write your own words or use lyrics you have permission to use.
How much does it cost to make a song with AI?
Song creation is included from Wawie Start, at EUR 4.99 a month or EUR 49.90 a year with 180,000 credits a month. Music and songs are billed in credits per generation, and the cost is shown before you launch. Pro and Business plans add more credits and premium music generation, and every paid plan covers all other wawie tools as well.
